Story Sharing of Students' Creative Writing!

Photos of those eager to share with the Class their creative stories from the their Thursday Night Story-Writing Homework!

This Photo goes way back to 1996. Mr. Stathis's first class after leaving Alaska the first time where he had been for 13 years. Main Street School, Los Angeles. This is "Big George" [George "Jorge" Padilla] sharing his story form his creative writing homework. On the side is Mr. Stathis's son born in Alaska, here in 3rd Grade looking-on. Notice the chalk board of those days....and what's on the bulletin board. George was beloved and a firend of all.

Now back to Classroom 16 of Vallejo. From the 2018-2019 Class of 4th and 5th Graders of Mr. Stathis in their every-Thursday requirement of writing a Story. Then on Friday's: An Eager Audience appreciating their Classmates writing!

At the Microphone for all to hear!

Adrian!

Adrian always thought-up some amazing stories!

Many of his stories included other students, sometimes ALL the students of the classroom as characters in his tales!

Ahimsa's stories were always enjoyed by everyone.

He saved most of his stories in a binder and even had them now that he's in college! When he gets married and has kids, they will read what he wrote as a kid!

Classroom 16 students always respectfully listened with interest to their classmates.

A.J.'s stories were amazing. He had never really done anything like this before, writing long stories....'

And then getting to enjoy having friends here what he wrote.

Sometimes Funny; Sometimes Serious; and ALWAYS INTERESTING!

Christopher really got into it on most nights and almost always did EXTRA, LOTS EXTRA words that what was required for the homework.

Emily always had fun writing her stoires at home, and fun reading them in class.

Her classmates had fun hearing her.

Students are concentrating on the details of her plot in her tale and are anxious to hear what is going to happen next!

Sometimes students finished a story on a "Cliff-hanger," and everyone would encourge the Writer to do a Part 2 next week! They wanted to hear more!

Jursiyon's stories were very creative and often quite funny. And he often wrote a Part 2 and sometimes a Part 3 and Part 4 of his Tales!

Jerome, like most of his Classroom 16 classmates never really had to do something like this before: pull out of themselves a story, with a certain minimum amount of words that had to be dome for Homework, and weave a tale with characters that would have fun twists and turns in it.

Joshua discovered his mazing talent for great story ideas on these Homework assignments EVERY THURSDAY NIGHT!

Even Marvin, who admitted he was usually quite a lazy person for schoolwork, got into it sometimes and when he did, he discovered he had great tales inside him to create on paper that everyone enjoyed hearing!

Nikki was an amazing Writer. Though minimums might have ranged from 160 words at the beginning of the year to 400 by Springtime assignments, she often did over 1000 words, no problem!

"Now here's what happens next...."

Robert. Bearrunner realized that HE TOO loved Writing; that HE TOO could write tales that everyone loved following along listening to.

"And then...."

"So if you remember in Part 1......Now for Part2!"

Sub-Title

"You'll love this story, everyone!"

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

After a student was done with reading, the class had the opportunity to ask a question, make a suggestion, or comment on what part they liked the best.

Everyone did their homework; everyone wrote a story. Everyone!

Sylvanna reads while Ahimsa sees who earned Tea this morning as he prepared to serve it during this sharing time.

Xavier getting into it!

Ezra loved to write and to read aloud.

Such a wonderful time!
